Horseback Riding for All

Today we enjoyed a full day of family fun, beginning with horseback riding for all of us. Yep. I mean ALL of us. Even Mr. B climbed into the saddle for a few minutes. The girls have taken to riding bareback, and the shared lease I'm enjoying has me riding more confidently every day.

After our morning rides, we headed to Lompoc to enjoy People's Day at La Purisima Mission State Historic Park. The girls usually enjoy taking part in the activities which today included making soap, tasting the bread baked in the horno and spread with freshly churned butter, watching the coopers at work, and making pinch pots. And of course we stopped to pet the horses, tried to attract the donkeys (not interested in us one bit), and scratched a very appreciative Longhorn steer.

We capped off the day with "The Sound of Music" ala Julie Andrews.

Yep. Love these family days!
